Supported Employment
We are committed to helping customers choose their own career paths, earn fair wages, and find meaningful work in their community through our supported employment services division. Community Link currently supports about 25 people working in individual jobs in and around Boulder County. All our services are focused on the individual; identifying their interests, skill sets, and conditions for employment so that a good match in the labor market can be found.
Our organization is involved with state and national organizations that provide ongoing training, certification, and support for Employment First principles such as the Office of Employment First and APSE. All of our employment consultants go through certification processes and ongoing training in best practices for supported employment services.
Our employment services include the following phases:
Pre-Employment Services
We aim to help job seekers through traditional assessment tools such as Paid Work Experiences, Situational Assessments, resume building, and interview preparation. For those that need more customized assessment tools, we can provide Discovery services.
Discovery allows job-seeking individuals to work with an employment consultant prior to the job development process and connect with their team members to determine what interests they have, what their skills are, and what their conditions for employment will be in the job market.
Job Development
Employment Consultants assist with locating employment opportunities, negotiating jobs customized for the individual when needed, and representing the job seeker to employers in the early stages of the placement process. They also help support individuals in the interview and onboarding process as needed.
Job Coaching
Employment Consultants work with the individual, their team, and their place of employment to clarify support, provide on-the-job training supplementing standard new hire practices, and aid the person during the initial phases of their job.
Follow Along Support Services
Once employment has been stabilized, the support does not end, as an employment consultant remains available on an ongoing and as-needed basis to help ensure job satisfaction, ongoing training needs, and support of the employee-employer relationship.
For individuals already employed, this service can be provided regardless of how employment was attained.
“Community Link has provided great support of the employment relationship so that team members with disabilities can be productive and valued members of our organization!”
We are accepting referrals from the Colorado Division of Vocational Rehabilitation and HCBS Medicaid Waivers.
